New Beggining

starting some thing new

we were given a new task of modifying the square-bot, its new goals are stated in the previous log. So first is what are we planning on changing and adding to the robot. My first thought is to place another motor to move a hook arm attached to the chassis, the only down side is how are we gonna move the robot and the arm at the same time .

We Fin.......ish... No Okay

We Fin.......ish... No? Okay

 Well its finally done our nightmare is finally over. Its be a rough path and many fails but we finally manage to finish. I say we did pretty decent for our self but it is what it is. We now will embark on a new challenge which is to program the robot to pick up a triangle shaped object and place it on a pipe. Each pipe has a different value for example one has 50 point and another has 20 etc. But we finally finished the nightmares are over.

Programming Pressure

This week we are planning to program the robot to go around the 2 chairs 3 times. We were at a lost until our teacher told us what to do, we haven't decided weather to make it go in a circle or in a wide square. We have a lot of pressure on us cause we are planning to turn it in this week, if not then RIP..

Back to Basics : Part 2

We are currently modifying the programming to make the robot go in a larger circle, while avoiding the chairs but we have come across a few difficulties. The inner motor(left motor) moves faster than the outer motor, causing it to turn slowly, drifting in the left direction. A solution to this is to slow down the inner motor and speed up the outer motor. We also experienced the robot doing a complete 360 degree turn. We are going to continue to modify our program and if we don't receive good repetitive results, we will review again on Monday and come up with some other options as a team.

 This week we plan on making the new code I talked about in last weeks blog. The new code involves the robot going in a wider cycle without it being to close the the chair but just far enough that it can going around the two chair 3x. Things to be done:

We have finally figured out what to do with a little help of our teacher, but we have finally figured that we need to make the cycle around the chair wider and we also need a bigger area to work with. So Monday we are planning to do the coding and making the code cycle around the chair 3 times. Today we will work on other things because we don't want one of the member to miss out on the coding.

 Well to start off with the issues list, the dang robot doesn't have a repeating result, even with the same code it's movement changes. When we change the code, we still get the wrong results. And i'm not going to lie this is getting very annoying and very stressful. But that's all yea it sucks but we will prevail.

Today we are going to program the robot, sadly to say we failed to turn in the robot on the due date we still plan on getting in turned in and getting a decent grade, but for now we are programming the robot. The following things below are what we plan on doing this week:

Well time is up this is it, this is the day that we Semper Fi have to complete the course we are making our finally check on the robot and making sure that everything is good and ready to run. We are hoping that the robot  makes it through the course without bumping into a chair or so -_-. Once we finish our finale check with the robot we will then proceed to the course, wish us luck.

Robot Problems And The Course


We are having robot issues apparently pieces of the robot are coming loose which is causing random problems for example when the robot turns on if it tends to move slightly to the left, which means we will have to rebuild the robot a little. So we are expecting to have it done somewhere this week. When we finish the robot is expected to finish the course.

Finally making progress

Finally making progress
We are finally able to make it move by itself, but we are still facing issue for example the robot makes a 180 degree turn instead of a 90 degree turn which we are fixing now. We are planning to be finish by Monday with all programming and ready to turn it in.

I'm just a regular Mexican living a regular life, career choice would be to work in the Marines as long as possible.I'm really obsess with working out and i really like pizza, i also consider myself to be a gamer although i haven't played games in a while. Two games i'm pretty good at is Minecraft and Call of Duty (version that don't involve futuristic weapons).My prefer weapon is a M1911 or a Desert Eagle, my main interest is more into military stuff I really don't have a reason why but something about guns get to me.My preferred music is almost anything expect rap,romantic music,etc.I have not interest in going to college after High school I intend in going to the Marines.That all that is needed to know about me peace....

Making Progress

We are going to start coding the basic square robot so it run autonomously, we are going to make it so it can run a certain course. We are also going to need to remodel our robot due to wheels falling off and the small beams that connect the motor to the gears seems to be loose.
